Welcome to Bartolomé de las Casas Elementary School (an Acero School)!

As a small charter school in the Chicago neighborhood of Pilsen, we are committed to serving our community. As a result, students, families, and faculty get to know each other extremely well; it is truly a place where “everybody knows your name.” While we provide rigorous, Common Core State Standards aligned instruction in all subjects, we also personalize instruction to each child’s needs, strengths, and interests. We welcome all families to participate in the life of the school and their child’s educational experience. Through frequent communication, school events, biweekly progress reports, and twice annual Presentation of Learning conferences, we seek to share and celebrate each child’s progress as a learner. Please consider participating on our various family committees: School Events, Bilingual Advisory, or Title One.
