CRUSADING FAMILIES

Thank you to all the families who attending our first Crusading POMS meeting of the year!  Everyone is always invited- they take place the first Tuesday of each month.  You can find location details in the calendar on our website: bc.aceroschools.org. Next month we will be finalizing our plans for the dual October student celebrations. Make sure to join us!

Please make sure you are familiarizing yourself with our website.  This will be our main stream of communication in the coming months.  You will be able to access copies of all important documents and read about upcoming events.

Also- make sure to follow us on Facebook- Casas- Acero Schools!  We are working to make sure you can see all of the awesome things that are happening at our school!

Today, progress reports were sent home.  If there are any questions or concerns regarding the information in those reports, please make sure to contact your classroom teacher to set up a meeting.  In the coming months, please make sure to be checking PowerSchool for grade updates!! Log-ins were sent home earlier this week.

Acero Letters

Attached is a letter that was sent out from the Acero team, outlining movement we have made towards our values- this week’s highlighted value was excellence.  

There is also a letter from our network outlining our stance on the latest news about DACA.  If you are having trouble viewing the attachment, it is also available on our network website.   

FUTURE Leaders- Student Values at Casas

In September, we are having discussions around the first value: Focus.  Focus was selected as a value because in our world today, with so many distractions, it is easy to lose sight of what is important. Each day, students will engage in discussion and activities around this value. At the end of the month, students who demonstrated the value of "focus" will be invited to attend a special event.

Acero Values at Casas

Just like our students, our school team is working on a set of values- the Acero Values.  Each month, members of the school team are nominated by their colleagues for demonstrating achievement, community, excellence, resilience, and optimism.  

For August, our amazing Art Teacher, Ms. Fosses, was nominated by the Dream Team as the Casas Acero Team Member of the Month.  She continues to be a role model for the Casas community!  Congrats, Ms. Fosses!

Going Green

Continue to check the website for important dates and information (like the next Crusading POMS meeting and when Progress Reports will be sent home!)

Any reminders or information that would traditionally have been sent home in Friday Folders is now accessible on the website.

Before You Go!

• No School on Friday, September 15th- teachers will be busy working on planning and participating in professional development activities.  
• “Acknowledgement of Receipt” forms for the Acero Schools Student Handbook must be signed and turned in to the Main Office (a copy is available through the link on the site).
• Medical Forms and FIIF Forms are due to the Main Office- see Ms. Ramirez for details.
